Why Law in China?

Its boom time in China. Yet much of the country is still developing and retains its mystery and beauty. Rich in culture, history and breathtaking landscapes, visitors to China experience contemporary and ancient values, poverty and wealth, communism and capitalism.

Volunteering in China

Law volunteers are involved in helping to prepare, check and revise legal documents such as loan and mortgage contracts and letters of legal opinion. Sometimes you will meet and prepare documents with the clients themselves and you may observe cases when your supervisor is representing clients. Volunteers often also help to market the firm and recruit new business from English-speaking clients. These placements are open to anyone - you don't need to be a qualified lawyer!

Why take part in a Law Placement?

Gain hands-on experience of the law in a place far from home while giving your CV an impressive edge!

A career in law is an increasingly popular choice, and therefore a highly competitive field to be in. If you have decided to enter the competition, what better head start than taking part in a law placement in thriving Shanghai? Our placements give you the opportunity to spend a period of time working for a prestigious law office in China's capital city where you will experience law in a real context, away from the lecture theatre. Not only will you learn a vast amount from shadowing and observing professional lawyers, but you will even be able to have an active role within the firm. Whether you are about to start a law degree, are part way through, or are already a law graduate, our placements allow you access to an invaluable experience, one which will increase your confidence, increase your interest, and increase your prospects in a competitive job market.
